Flesh and Spirit (Romans 8:11-13) Adam Hillyer

We just moved back inside to our old home, New Traditions Elementary School! You can find more information about our Sunday gatherings on this page.

Summary

Romans 8 is all about life in the Spirit and resurrection. But resurrection is not just something to enjoy after death! Because the Spirit dwells in us, the future is breaking into the present. Listen as Adam encourages us from Romans 8, challenging us to remember how the Spirit's indwelling presence makes us temples now, guarantees our future, and changes us today.

Text

Romans 8:11–13

[11] If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

[12] So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. [13] For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. (ESV)
