Summary

Sometimes we don't pray because we don't know what to pray for. The world's brokenness is not a clean break, and the path to restoration is rarely clear. In Romans 8, Paul challenges us to keeping praying. God doesn't expect us to know what to pray for. In fact, it's at the precise points of our ignorance that the Spirit intercedes for us. Listen as Dave encourages us to receive God’s mercy in our ignorance.

Romans 8:26–27

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. (ESV)
