Summary

The text for the story of the woman caught in adultery in John 8 is not included in the earliest manuscripts of the Gospel of John. Many biblical scholars do not consider it to hold the same scriptural authority that the rest of the text in the gospels do. 30 Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. (ESV)
